Back-to-School Sustainability Tips

School is back in session, and with it comes plenty of opportunities to take small steps to protect our environment.  When shopping for school supplies, and taking children to and from school, keep these eco-friendly tips in mind:

• Set up a carpool with friends and neighbors or have your children ride the school bus to reduce the number of cars on the road.
• Pack school lunches in reusable lunch boxes instead of paper lunch bags.
• When picking up your children from school, turn off your engine and don’t leave your car idling when you will be waiting longer than one minute.
